Requested review from Mackenzie Michalokjo!
The Intro:
What do I even say here? If you are firmly following movies, you probably heard of this, and its oh so successful run. If you are not aware of this film, please for all things proper, just exit out of this review now. But if we must, here is my requested review of the notorious “Holmes & Watson” starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly.
IMDB Summary:
“A humorous take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic mysteries featuring Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson.”
The Oberrating:
“Humorous take”…. Yeah, about that. There was nothing funny about this movie, period. I gave it a fair shot, I truly did. It is wild to me that the two stars that gave us “Step Brothers” can not replicate the same energy and comedy that was there. Instead of replicating said comedy, it somehow reverse evolves into some kind of caveman dialect masked in a British accent. For real though, I think I chuckled three times.
I could not begin to tell you what happens with this story. 1. It is so boring that I began to nod off a couple of times. 2. Nothing happens that is worthwhile at all. To me, it is all just pointless garbage that never really leads to anything. Hell, I would even give “Step Brothers” the positive nod that at least it had a story to follow and get behind. Why “Holmes & Watson” became a thing is beyond me.
The Wrap-Up:
I really wanted to find something positive about this movie. Maybe one good joke, or even a forgiving performance. Maybe I will at least say the cameos are cool, but even they are not long lasting enough to enjoy. No plot, no comedy, nothing. I just suffered another request that my brain must remember forever.
Rating: 1/5
